Even if you are giving less than a 24 hour notice, I prefer you reschedule your appointment if you are feeling unwell, so let me know as soon as possible.

  • Not all types of massage are appropriate for all conditions. There are many health conditions that may require specialized techniques, treatment plans or more gentle forms of therapy such as lymphatic massage or Reiki therapy. In many cases, your massage therapist can come up with a treatment plan that will work for you and your health situation. Please let your therapist know of you have any of the following:

    • Any acute injury from a recent accident such as whiplash, sprains, or other soft tissue damage. Swelling or edema.

    • Acute conditions such as flared-up psoriasis, eczema, or rheumatoid arthritis.

    • Uncontrolled high blood pressure, diabetes, prominent varicose veins, osteoporosis, or any other serious medical conditions.

  • This is very common, and it is simply a sign that you are enjoying some relaxation!

  • Being quiet can help promote relaxation, but for some, silence is uncomfortable. So, this is completely up to you. But for sure, communicate with your therapist if you feel any pain or discomfort, if you have any concerns during your massage, or if there is anything your massage therapist can do to make you more comfortable. Also, some techniques will require more feedback from you to ensure that the technique is not uncomfortable.

  • The most common side effect of Reiki therapy is feeling relaxed and uplifted. However, sometimes a person can experience what is is called a healing crisis. This can come on as a headache, stomach ache, or general weakness. In Reiki, energy is cleared, and vibrations go up, and toxins that were once stored in the body are released to the blood stream and are filtered through the liver and kidneys as part of the clearing process. It is a good idea to drink more water and get more rest after a Reiki session.

  • Massage and Reiki therapies are for all ages, however, I only accept clients who are 18 years or older at this time.

  • Yes, it's quite common for someone to feel light headed just after a massage as the treatment is likely to reduce blood pressure, so get up slowly after the treatment and have a glass of cold water.
